Amarnath yatra target by the terrorists this year: Input suggest by Army

On Friday informed by the Indian Army that terrorists are targeting the Amarnath Yatra. The yatra is expected to begin on July 21 2020.

SRINAGAR:

Indian army assures people and country, they start preparing themselves for this obstacle and trying to make this Amarnath yatra happens peacefully.

All the systems and resources are placed for the protection of Yatra. Yatris would take to go to the North route as NH-44 route is sensitive.

Yatra this year is expected to begin on 21st July 2020.

Constraints due to COVID-19, the maximum number of only 500 pilgrims are allowed per day by road from Jammu this year.  This year the yatra will take place from the Baltal route and the Pahalgam route is closed for pilgrims.

And all pilgrims and sadhus will be tested, sampled and quarantined till their reports are negative, Yatra will be for the short duration in this year due to COVID-19.

Yesterday, Minister Rajnath Singh arrived Leh and interacted with the field commanders.  Together with the Army chief MM Naravane and Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat.

Rajnath Singh also visited forward areas in Kashmir and inspected all the ground situation in Jammu & Kashmir.
