74th Independence Day: Changes In Celebration In This Year Due To COVID-19.

74th Independence Day 2020:

Red Fort, Delhi Celebrations will be different in this year due to COVID-19 pandemic. There would be lots of precautions to be kept in mind.

Every event & festival celebration has been different due to the current situation in the country. Independence Day celebrations are the biggest national festival in the country. but this year there are some major changes to the celebrations.

At the Red Fort, How Independence Day will be celebrated this year.

With all the required precautions, this year the Red Fort will celebrate Independence Day event like every year, but a slight difference is there.
The unfolding of the national flag followed by the national anthem, and the firing of 21-gun salute, speech by Prime Minister Modi, Released tri-coloured balloons in the end.

Changes in this year

  • No school children will present in this year.
  • The NCC cadets would attend the celebrations at the Red Fort.
  • Only 20% VVIPs or other participants will be able to attend the live speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as compared to previous years.
  • The social distancing guidelines will be adhered to during the function.
  • “The official’s arrangements keeping social distancing in mind” ordered by the Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar and ASI Director-General.

Additional details: 

The VVIPs wouldn’t be able to sit at the near to place from where the prime minister delivers Independence Day speech.

In this time, Sit at the lower level only around a hundred VVIPs allowed.

Important, as many as 1,500 Corona winners, who recovered from this disease, will attend the function. Among all of them, 500 would be from local Indian police. The remaining 1,000 would be from across different parts of the country.

All persons will remain in quarantine since the beginning of the month who will be participating in the function are likely to come in contact with the Prime Minister.

It would be not a grand celebration, the reception which is held in the evening at Rashtrapati Bhavan will take place this year also.
