Today Mumbai police issued a warning asking people to stay indoors unless it is very essential to go outside as heavy rains and winds lashed the city and its neighbouring areas. “Take all necessary precautions and do not go outside near the waterlogged areas,” said Mumbai Police.

The local train and bus services were affected due to water-logging on rail tracks and roads. Rains also hit Pune, Satara and Kolhapur districts in western Maharashtra.

The water-logging was reported in low-lying areas of Chembur, Parel, Hindmata, Wadala and other areas of Mumbai.

The suburban train operations between CSMT-Vashi stations on the Harbour line suspended by the railway authority, CSMT-Kurla on the Mainline and also between Churchgate and Kurla due to water-logging on tracks around Masjid Bunder, Marine Line, Kurla, Sion, and other stations.

As per IMD heavy rainfall noticed since 8.30 AM to 5.30 PM in Mumbai. (more than 20 cm) . 22.9 cm in Kolawa. 8.8 cm in Santacruz.

The wind is blowing more than the speed of 170 km/hour. Tomorrow wheater suggests heavy rainfall in Mumbai.
