Landslide Idukki District, Kerala: PM Announced Ex-gratia Of Rs 2Lakh each.

Idukki Landslide: Death Toll Rises To 15, many people are missing, after heavy rains hit several parts of Kerala on today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today’s on twitter post expressed his grief at the loss of lives in a landslide.  PM announced Ex-Gratia Of Rs 2,00,000 for those who lost their lives and Rs. 50,000 each would be given to those who injured due to this rain in Kerala.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Red Alert for extremely heavy rainfall for 3 districts Idukki, Malappuram, and Wayanad till 11th of August 2020.

15 (minimum) people have died and several are trapped in a landslide in Rajamala. The landslide in Kerala occurred in residential parts of the area where tea plantation workers reside and 10 people have been rescued.

The Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan has said that a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has been situated to rescue the victims of this landslide.

Medical teams from Ernakulam and Kottayam districts have been deployed in the district and 15 ambulances have been sent to the incident site said by the state health ministry.
